CalWORKs & Employment Services acts as a part of Human Services, one of six Divisions of County of Placer Health & Human Services.

If you are an adult with dependent children, you may be eligible for California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids, or CalWORKs. CalWORKs provides:

• Child care, work expense assistance, transportation, and counseling
• Education, employment and training programs through Employment Services
• Families with children financial assistance to meet their basic needs
• Support for families moving toward self-sufficiency

If you are eligible for CalWORKs you will automatically qualify for Medi-Cal and may also qualify for CalFresh. Temporary Financial Assistance

​CalWORKs is a temporary financial assistance program for low- or no- income families with children. It can help all kinds of families who have fallen on hard times due to a variety of issues such as fleeing domestic violence, illness or death of an income earner, substance use, child behavior or developmental challenges, homelessness, legal or criminal record constraints, or job loss.

The Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer treatment and support services. Clinical services include comprehensive state of-the-art individual treatment and emergency medical treatment. Support services include: free individual therapy offered to patients, survivors, and caregivers; massage therapy; grief support. Nurse Navigation services provide education, support with appointments, referrals, information, and advocacy.

The Tahoe Truckee Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) is a program of the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation. CAPC's activities are funded by the Children’s Trust Fund in both Placer and Nevada Counties.

CAPC activities include:

• Providing funding for parenting classes
• Staff training
• Community education
• Advocating for child abuse prevention strategies across the region

Children's System of Care offers comprehensive services for children and youth who may be at risk in Placer County.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Placer Children's mental health services includes full scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries, and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) beneficiaries with low or no share of cost. Those who do not meet these eligibility criteria are assessed on an individual basis regarding their need for services.

The Cirby Wellness Center offers an array of wellness services all in one place. Activities are facilitated by both peer and professional staff. The activities offered at the Wellness Center are free of cost and designed to foster a sense of community and shared recovery.

The Wellness Center features:

The City of Lincoln's Code Enforcement Division promotes health and safety for the residents of Lincoln. They maintain the quality of the community through partnerships, education, and enforcement. They work with residents, neighborhood associations, public service agencies, and city departments. Code enforcement applies the Lincoln Municipal Code (LMC) to address nuisances.
